Basic

Our Basic school uses the Nigerian National/British curriculum. The curriculum builds on what children already know and can do, and designed to be imaginative, challenging, relevant to their needs and offers them opportunities to become involved in first-hand experience and purposeful play. We aim at:

  1. Fostering personal, social and emotional development by encouraging independence, healthy competition and self-esteem. We encourage self-respect for others and offer opportunities for social interaction;
  2. Develop communication, language and literacy skills by talking, listening and encouraging children to read;
  3. Foster mathematical development;
  4. Foster physical development, history and knowledge of the environment;
  5. Encourage creativity by extending the choice and control that the children have over their own play;
  6. Develop knowledge and understanding of the world through exploration.
